How To: Watercolour Anthurium

Hi crafty friends! I’m absolutely honoured to announce I have joined the Scrappy Tails design team. I’m sharing a watercolour card as my first DT blog post, using the beautiful Tropical bliss collection.

I absolutely adore the Anthurium Die from Scrappy Tails (I have a beautiful bright Anthurium on my window sill at home!) and immediately knew I wanted to create a card with it at the centre.

I travel a lot for work, which means I'm unfortunately limited on which craft supplies I can bring with me. I die cut the Anthurium from white watercolour card stock several times, and it was the perfect size to fit in a small tupperware box to bring in my bag (you can see the set up I had in my hotel room below).

I painted the base anthurium die in bright reds and greens, as well as the petals in bright reds and the stamens in yellow. There is so much detail in the die, it looks beautiful painted. I glued the petals and stamen on to the base die with some white die cuts behind for dimension.

I ink blended some complimentary inks using a light touch on to some white cardstock and adhered on to an A2 card base, and then adhered my painted Anthurium centrally. I cut the 'LOVE' sentiment that is included in the Scrappy Tails Flower Vase Pop Up Card Die three times from black card stock, adhered on to my painted Anthurium and added Glossy Accent for some shine. I finished with some iridescent bubbles scattered here and there.

Thank you so much for reading my post, please let me know what you think in the comments below.
