Three Ways: Cosy Autumnal House Cards

Updated: Oct 28, 2022

Hey crafty friends, the days are getting shorter and it's full on sweater weather here in London. I have a couple of friends that have just bought their dream homes, so I wanted to make some cute and cosy autumnal house cards using the gorgeous Scrappy Tails Harvest Blessings release.

Watercolour Pop Up A2 House

For my first house card, I die cut the Slimline Birdhouse Pop Up Die twice from kraft card stock, and once from cream card stock. I cut the house panels short so they would fit in an A2 envelope, and adhered the cream house panel on to one of the kraft panels. I then die cut a hole for the door (included in the die) from the top panel, and die cut the doors using the die included. It makes it a little harder to open but I cut once from kraft card stock and once from white card stock, and adhered together. I die cut a roof from kraft card stock, and a ledge from cream card stock, and adhered these to my front panel. I then die cut several leaves from white card stock using the Fall Assorted Leaves Dies. I then die cut several leaves using the Fall Assorted Leaves Dies from white card stock. I added colour to these die cuts using Distress Pencils in autumnal colours (Vintage Photo, Fired Brick, Barn Door, Warm Honey, Spiced Marmalade, Shabby Shutters, Peeled Paint) and added details to the house - I used Walnut Stain to add details to the roof, and Tumbled Glass to the doors to create the look of glass.

I adhered these leaves to the house panel. I then used the pop up feature included in the die set, cutting twice from kraft card stock. I reinforced the score lines with my score board and then adhered these to the two panels, creating the pop up house effect! Although difficult to see in the photo, I stamped "Sending you Sunshine" from the Scrappy Tails Crafts - Deluxe Harvest Blessings Card Kit on to a panel, and adhered inside where the doors open to. I will write my personal message on the back of the card. I finished with some of the gorgeous yellow pearls from the Card Kit (they have a beautiful gloss finish), and two black pearls for door handles. I will write my personal message on the back of the card.

Autumnal Pop Up Slimline House

For my second house card, I I die cut the Slimline Birdhouse Pop Up Die twice from kraft card stock, and once from cream card stock, adhering the cream house panel on to one of the kraft panels. I then die cut a hole for the door (included in the die) from the top panel, and die cut the doors from taupe card stock using the die included. I die cut holes for the windows, and then die cut the windows from taupe card stock and adhered, along with some vellum to the top panel to make cute windows. I die cut a roof from kraft card stock, and a ledge from taupe card stock, and adhered these to my front panel. I then die cut several leaves using the Fall Assorted Leaves Dies from a mixture of neutral, warm and specialty card stock. I finished with Gold Pearls among the leaves, and two black pearls for door handles. I will write my personal message on the back of the card.

Neutrals Cardstock A2 House

For my final house card, I folded a piece of white card stock to measure 4.25 and 5.5 with a side fold. I then die cut the Slimline Birdhouse Pop Up Die from the panel, making sure there was a small gap between the fold of the card to create a shaped card. I additionally cut the house panel from cream card stock and adhered to the shaped card. I then die doors from taupe card stock using the die included, and adhered to the panel. I die cut a roof from taupe card stock and adhered these to my front panel. I then die cut several leaves using the Fall Assorted Leaves Dies from a mixture of neutral, warm and specialty card stock. I added lots of dimension using additional white die cuts, and adhered these leaves to the house panel. Although difficult to see in the photo, I stamped "Sending you Sunshine" from the Scrappy Tails Crafts - Deluxe Harvest Blessings Card Kit behind the doors. I finished with Gold Pearls among the leaves, and two black pearls for door handles. I will write my personal message on the back of the card. I added some gold gems to the card for even more shine!

Thank you so much for reading my post, let me know in the comments below which card is your favourite!
